Epiphany is celebrated in Germany on January 6th to symbolize the three wise men's visit  to baby Jesus.  Also marking the end of the Christmas season, Bavaria and a few other regions celebrate it as a public holiday. So what did we do? Light piles of wood on fire. 

With the tempurature dropping and the decorations going up, you cant help but get excited for Christmas. Of course things are done a little differently in here in Bavaria, and there is so much to do, December seems too short.

If you are anything like me, learning a new language is very, very, very difficult. I am also a cheap-o and am very reluctant to take 300€ classes to learn a language when there are cheap or free apps available that I can use whenever I feel like it! 

No matter if you are an experienced expat or a newcomer, you never no what to expect from a new country. New traditions, different language, crazy customs, and tempurature changes. If it wasnt for the facebook groups and bloggers who have been here for longer than I, I would have had one hell of a time adjusting!

A mere two hour drive from Nuremberg is a beautiful town that goes by the name of Ludwigsburg. See, Germany is very very good at hiding all of its amazing cities somehow, and only when a friend of a friends neighbor tells you they heard from their cousins dad's half sister twice removed that there is something going on do you discover such amazing towns.
