Who knew Easter would be such a big deal in Germany? Maybe it is because it really marks the end of the cold winter, and the beginning of a colorful spring. Or maybe it is because like more German Holidays, everyone gets a week off of school and in some cases work. No matter what it is, Easter is a big deal, and you need to know what you should do to celebrate!

 Thank god for technology and sweet deals, the only problem is finding the right ticket for the right price. It took me a lot of back and forth, a lot of reseach, and a few months of patience, but in the end I was able to find tickets for $700 roundtrip instead of the originally proposed $2000.

The dreaded money conversation has to arise at some point... no one likes to discuss money, worry about it, or really even think about the damage a vacation will cost but there really is no reason to worry.

There are days like today when we are pretty sure we have the worst luck in the world. When we first arrived in Germany we parked in a handicapped spot accidentaly (when parallel parking, the sign marking it a handicapped space is on the end, not the beginning of the space) and got a speeding ticket (going 10 over the speed limit in a 30 zone we didnt realize had dropped so suddenly) because we didnt understand the way parking works here. We think we figured it out, knew where to park and where not to park. 

Recycling is not necessarily a new concept to me, but Germany takes things to a whole new level! USA should follow suit, and so your prepared when it does happen, here are some tips and explanations to make it easier.

Moving to Germany was no easy task, with the paperwork, and logistics, there isn’t much time to worry about what you will be missing when you get here. 

If you are anything like me, learning a new language is very, very, very difficult. I am also a cheap-o and am very reluctant to take 300€ classes to learn a language when there are cheap or free apps available that I can use whenever I feel like it! 

No matter if you are an experienced expat or a newcomer, you never no what to expect from a new country. New traditions, different language, crazy customs, and tempurature changes. If it wasnt for the facebook groups and bloggers who have been here for longer than I, I would have had one hell of a time adjusting!
