NO CELLPHONES - Why You Need to Have an Unplugged Wedding
Turn off your cell phones, put away your disposable cameras, set the iPad down, and unplug, so you can relax and enjoy the day with the bride and groom.
An unplugged wedding = a wedding without any technology. As a photographer this is extremely important to make sure that I don’t have any electronics in my photos or video of your big day.
I can’t even count the number of times I’ve captured devices being stuck out into the aisle or the times I’ve had to move around to get the iPad out of my shot. To be frank, it’s a little annoying and obnoxious.
Instead of you and your photographer worrying about devices blocking the perfect shot, tell all of your guests to just enjoy the ceremony and leave their phones behind until the reception.
How do you tell your guests it’s an unplugged ceremony? It’s simple.
All you need is a sign (maybe a few) that say:
“This is our unplugged wedding please leave your cell phones and cameras in your pockets or bags until after the ceremony.”
You can also add this to a wedding website so your guests are aware beforehand!
Ultimately, it is your day, so you can decide if you would like to have an unplugged wedding or not. Maybe you want different photos from the angles of your guests. However, if you’re asking me as a professional photographer, I will always always always (scream it from the rooftops) recommend an unplugged wedding.
