Winter Date Ideas - Dont let the snow get you down!
Winter is quickly approaching and what are you to do with your significant other when it gets too cold outside? Here is an awesome list compiled from many different amazing bloggers who have thought of the most creative ways to spend your evening with your loved-one.
- Grab the Book of Questions - and ask away. You can do this over dinner at home or at a restaurant. Awesome conversation and you’ll really get to know your other-half on a whole different level.
- Make a Marriage Bucket List and cross off one of the items that night. Never been on a roller coaster together? Never slept under the stars? Get to it!
- Write love letters dedicated to the other person for 20 years from now. Read them to each other then lock them away for safe keeping (time capsle?). Now THAT will make for a fun date night in 20 years!
- Create a family “Dream Board” for the next year. Grab tons of magazines and newspapers from friends the week prior and spend the night listening to your favorite songs while pasting your dreams together. Hang it up on a cool cork board in your kitchen and watch your dreams come true.
- S'more Time Together - For a fun and yummy winter date, we love the idea of setting up a s’more station! Light a fire and put together a selction of marshmallows, different types of chocolate and dipping toppings like flakes, sprinkles and nutella. You can cuddle up next to the fire and create delicious S’more Sandwich with biscuits, berries and chocolate sauce! Yum!
- Build a Fort Indoors - Why not relive some of that childhood excitement for a fun & romantic winter indoor date night. Gather sheets, blankets, a mattress & sleeping bags and create your very own indoor camp site. Use fairy lights for an extra romantic touch. Once your fort is built, you can snuggle up and watch your favourite old movie, or open a bottle of red wine, find a torch and make shadow puppets or share your favourite scary stories.
A friendly Competition - Scrabble, Monopoly, 30 Seconds. There are easy ways to transform your favourite board games into two-player date nights you won’t forget! Introduce rewards and penalties, open a bottle of your favourite wine and you’ve got the perfect plan for an awesome indoor winter date!
Iron Chef: Chocolate Edition - If you love getting creative in the kitchen, this might be the date idea for you! Make a meal with chocolate featured in every course. Who says chocolate can’t be served as a main course? You can either make a meal together or divide up the courses between each of you and surprise the other with your sweet & savory creations. Not in the mood for chocolate (seriously who isnt??!) then get creative and try Pineapple or Strawberry!
Go on a treasure hunt! Geocaching is all over the world! Try and find the ones nearest you and make a day out of it!
Spa Date at Home - The Dating Divas are really amazing at the date ideas game. They came up with a date that lasts all week. Reward your love with spa-bucks throughout the week and they will use those to "pay" for their spa treatments at the end of the week! They even have amazing printables FREE for you to use!
Sunset Hot Chocolate for two - Grab 2 blankets, a pot of hot cocoa, some cookies, and a flashlight (lantern would be even better!) and watch the sun go down over the horizon.
Bookstore Date - If you are like me you love the bookstore like a kid loves the candy shop! Why not learn about your significant others interests and finds with a fun treasure hun the the store? Dating Vivas even has printables to help make your date effortless and easy!
Horse Drawn Carriage Ride - Have a large city nearby or a castle convienently located in your town(thank you germany!)? How about a romantic carriage ride through town! Get all dolled up and grab a few glasses of champane and pretend you have the key to the town!
Get Pumped Up!- Grab a workout DVD (or youtube video!) and get moving :) See who can do the most pushups, most sit ups, and longest wall squat. A little competition never hurt anyone ;)
Around the World Dinner Date - Option #1: if you live near another country/state, travel to different places and have the appetizer in one location, soup in another, Meal in another, etc etc. Option #2: Find nearby restaurants you have never tried before and hop (if they are close enough maybe literally) and eat each course at a different place!
